Those of you who come to Riga for the first time are definitely surprised by the large number of hair and beauty salons.
At first you notice the number of beautiful women met all around the city without body-guards. There are all kinds of explanations for that and one of them is obvious. If you want to do something about your looks, relax and feel the hands of professionals, you will definitely find a place to go in Riga. Every large street of the city has a billboard “Frizetava” that help you find a hair and beauty salon. The prices are very moderate as the concurrence is very high. A hair-cut with styling will cost a lady about 15 Ls in prestigious places, a gentleman – 5-10 Ls. Cosmetic procedures (face cleaning) – under 15 Ls, manicure – 3-8 Ls.
There are many modern fitness-centers in Riga and Yurmala, usually not large, and also tennis-courts – in- and outdoor. A members card for a month in a gym costs around 20 Ls, but usually at least 30 Ls in the center of the city.
The largest swimming-pool available is situated on Kipsala island, but if you have and opportunity to go to Yurmala – a large number of great swimming-pools in guest-houses and sanatoria will kindly welcome you. A 10-visit card costs about 20-25 Ls.
